SUTTON – Ronald M. Deschene, 80, formerly of Millbury and Whitinsville, passed away on Thursday, June 11th at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, surrounded by his family.

He leaves five children, Robyn M. Savoie and her husband, Shawn of Sutton, with whom he lived, Steven K. Deschene and his wife, Sandy of Worcester, Brian S. Deschene of Douglas, Kevin R. Deschene and his wife, Diane of Whitinsville and Todd M. Deschene and his wife, Carolyn of Essex; 18 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; two sisters, Joan Brooks of Maine and Sharon McCarthy of Uxbridge. He is predeceased by his wife, Joyce (Beauchamp) Deschene, his parents, Napoleon and Phoebe (Plante) Deschene and his brother, Douglas Deschene.

Ron was a former employee of GE prior to opening his own manufacturing business, JT Machine. He retired in 2003. Ron was a former member of the National Guard. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved animals, sports, fishing and especially going to Twin Rivers, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. He was a good hearted guy who was generous, caring and fun to be around. We would like to send a special thank you to the Dialysis Department at St. Vincent Hospital.

His funeral will be held Monday, June 15th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 14th in the funeral home. Burial will be private in St. Brigid Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Ave. #2, Norwood, MA 02062.
