NORTHBRIDGE - Ronald Harney, 80, died Friday, Dec. 9th at Brigham & Womens Hospital in Boston, surrounded by his family.
He leaves his wife, Nancy E. (Picotte) Harney; three children, Susan J. Florentine of Hoschton, GA, John Harney and his wife, Karen of Auburn and Cheryl Castonguay and her husband, John of Northbridge; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Harry Harney of Worcester and William Harney Uxbridge; one sister, Carol Ann Audette of Florida; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his parents, William E. and Jeanne (Thibeault) Harney and a sister, Pat Lessard.
Ronald was a meat cutter for most of working years and was a Navy veteran. He was an instructor for firearm safety at the Whitinsville Fish and Game Club, where he was also a member. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed camping with his wife. He loved his two birds Boy and Max. His family was very important to him and he loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. Mulhane Home for Funerals in Millbury is assisting the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St. Watertown, MA 02472.
