MILLBURY Ronnie A. Yaskis, 53, of 18 Beach St., died Wednesday, Dec. 29th in Knollwood Nursing Center, Worcester, surrounding by his family, after a long battle with bone cancer.
He leaves his wife of 32 years, Judith T. (Lane) Yaskis; three sons, Lane R. Yaskis, Joseph D. Yaskis and Michael P. Yaskis all of Millbury; his father, Arthur V. Yaskis of Auburn; a sister, Ruthann wife of Allen Garden of Millbury; a brother, Richard Yaskis of Webster; several uncles, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother, Betty J. (Kerr) Yaskis who died in 1995. He was born in Worcester and moved to Millbury in 1985. He graduated from Auburn High School in 1970 and then attended Worcester Industrial Technological Institute in Worcester.
Mr. Yaskis was the New England Sales Manager for Belmont Technology which is based in Michigan since 1998. Previously he worked for Rescom Exteriors in Auburn, Edward Super Food Stores in Shrewsbury and Smith Valve in Westborough. He was also previously the owner and operator of Roberts Package Store in Millbury for nine years.
He was a Millbury Pee Wee Soccer coach. He loved his family and friends, enjoyed golfing and fishing, renovating and landscaping his home, and restoring antique cars.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3rd in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury. Burial will be in St. BrigidTM)s Cemetery, Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan 2nd, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Franingham, MA 01701.
