Rosanna M. La Belle 87, passed away March 1, 2013 at Millbury Healthcare Center, after a long courageous battle to live a very full life.
Her husband, Henry J. La Belle, Sr., passed away in 1973. Rosanna leaves her daughters, Kathleen Pelkey and Elaine McLain, both of Millbury and her son, Henry J. La Belle, Jr. and his wife Janice of Oxford. Rosanna also leaves 10 grandchildren who she loved very much, Stephen, Sandra, James, Leonard and Mark Imbody, Scott Pelkey, Lisa Strapponi, Tobie (La Belle) Owens, Beth (La Belle) Buchanan and Henry J. La Belle III, 11 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She also leaves one sister, Dorothy Roach, also of Millbury. She is predeceased by her daughter, Linda Imbody, two brothers, Francis and Clarence Roach and one sister, Freida Kaczmarski and many nieces and nephews.
Rosanna was a Certified Nurses Aide and worked at St. Vincent's Hospital before her retirement. She is also a lifelong member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Charles F. Minney VFW Post 3329. She took great pride in being a member of the Auxiliary and was very happy to be part of the all the volunteer work they did together. Rosanna's passion in life was her beloved Boston Red Sox. She never missed watching a game and always told everyone, whether they win or lose, they will always be our Red Sox.
Rosanna was a member of St. Brigid Parish since moving to Millbury.
Rosanna's funeral will be held Wednesday, March 6th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury with a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery in Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 5th in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St., Millbury MA 01527.
