SUTTON Ruth M. (Spinney) Aldrich, 85, formerly of Hartness Rd., died Wednesday, Oct. 26th in St. Camillus Health Center, Whitinsville.
Her husband Lester R. Aldrich died in 2003. Ruth and her husband were married May 23, 1941. She leaves a son, Stephen J. Aldrich of Sutton; three daughters, Elaine R. Blythe of New Paltz, New York, Patricia M. Zamarro of Northborough and Dianne L. Warden of Rehoboth; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. She was born in Woodsville, New Hampshire, daughter of James W. and Ethel (Sawyer) Spinney and moved to Sutton in 1978. She graduated from Woodsville High School in 1938 and then from Burbank Nursing School in Fitchburg.
Mrs. Aldrich was a nurse at Burbank Hospital in Fitchburg, Peterboro Hospital in Peterboro, NH, Henry Haywood Hospital in Gardner and St. Camillus Hospital in Whitinsville. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Sutton and its WomenTM)s Fellowship. She was a past president for two years of the Christian WomenTM)s Club and past president of the WomenTM)s Guild in Hancock, NH.
A private graveside service will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Winchendon. There are no calling hours. Mulhane Home for Funerals, Millbury, is assisting the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Organ Fund of the First Congregational Church, 307 Boston, Rd., Sutton, MA 01590.
