MILLBURY - Ruth “Penny” (Botsford) Nikolajevs, 75, of Millbury died Thursday, Nov. 2nd at home, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Penny was born in Poultney, VT, the daughter of the late Fay and Elizabeth W. (Walker) Botsford and sister of the late Marcia B. Chadbourne. She leaves a son, Peter J. Nikolajevs and his wife, Rachel of Dearborn, MI; a daughter, Sandra Nikolajevs and her husband, Timothy O'Malley of Charleston, SC; “daughter” Michelle Beezer of Birmingham, MI; three grandchildren, Peter T. O’Malley, Natalie and Andrew Nikolajevs; “grandchild” Logan Mundt; nieces Sueanne Snell and Amy Chadbourne; nephew Dean Chadbourne; friend and roommate Barbara G. Murray; friends Shirley Haglund and Linda Luks; and many beloved great nieces, great nephews, and friends.
Penny was an active member of Millbury Baptist Church since 1975. She held many leadership positions there including the Board of Deacons, Women’s Fellowship, and the Administrative Council. Penny’s passion for the last two years was to see the church’s bell tower repaired and completed for the enjoyment of future generations. A memorial service will be at the Millbury Baptist Church on Sunday, Nov. 5th at 2 p.m. There are no calling hours. Burial will take place at a later date in Poultney, VT.
