Ruth Puchek

Ruth D. (Stratford) Puchek, 89, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 6th in Dodge Park Rest Home of Worcester.

Ruth's husband, Paul J. Puchek passed away in 2000. She leaves her daughter, Sandra Puchek of Sutton; three grandchildren, Heather Hannon of Sutton, Elizabeth Bohanan of Sutton and Richard Stratford, Jr. of Florida; two great grandchildren, Evelyn and Adeline; a sister, Martha Mingolla of Sutton and a brother, Theodore Stratford of Florida; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son, Richard Stratford; a daughter, Sharon Emery; two brothers, William Stratford and Thomas Stratford, Jr..

Ruthie was born in Worcester, MA, she was the daughter of Thomas and Ruth (Tobie) Stratford. She began working in a variety of local manufacturers, including the Felter's Mill in Millbury, while earning a degree in cosmetology. After becoming a grandmother she spent most of her time helping to take care of her grandchildren while also working for Millbury Council on Aging when it was located at the Asa Water's Mansion in Millbury, MA.

Ruthie enjoyed her crafts; she was a talented crocheter, knitter, and quilter. She truly loved her family and friends and spent all of her free time with them travelling, crafting, going to the lake house, and just relaxing on Dudley Road. She created a lifetime of memories that will stay with her family and friends for a lifetime more.

Ruth's calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 11th from 5 to 8 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.

Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 12th at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Central Cemetery in Millbury.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Dodge Park Rest Home of Worcester, MA.
