Ruth Sutton

February 24, 1924 — July 24, 2008

MILLBURY- Ruth A. (Ford) Sutton, 84, formerly of Morongo Valley, CA for 25 years, died peacefully in her sleep, July 24th at home in Millbury, where she had lived for two years.

A native of Fall River, Mass., she was born to Robert Ford and Amanda Harrison on Feb. 24, 1924. A 54 year resident of California, Mrs. Sutton was procurement clerk at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard for 11 years. She was a member of the Morongo Valley Women's Club, the Church of the Lighted Cross and the Senior Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, John D. Sutton, six years ago, a brother, Stanley Ford three years ago and a daughter, Sharon Vann two months ago.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Robert L. and Frankie Schultz II of Long Beach, Richard A. and Susan Schultz of Orlando, Fla., and Daniel and Jaeniece Sutton of Morongo Valley; daughter and son-in-law Beverly A. Davis and Rev. J. Clifford Davis Jr. of Millbury, Mass.; daughters Estelle Mix of Pioneertown and Carol Sutton of Oklahoma City, Okla.; brother Clifford Ford of Fall River, Mass.; 13 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10th in the Millbury Federated Church, 20 Main St. in Millbury. Burial was in Joshua Tree California. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Millbury Federated Church, 20 Main St., Millbury, MA 01527 or to the Friends of the Millbury Seniors, One River St., Millbury, MA 01527 or to the Auburn District Nursing Association 191 Pakachoag St., Auburn, MA 01501 or to the UMASS Memorial Hospice, 650 Lincoln St., Worcester, MA 01605.
