PHILLIPSTON / MILLBURY – S. Janice (Bass) Mayo, 48, of Upton, formerly of Millbury and Phillipston, died Monday, May 13, 2013 from drowning in Pratt Pond in Upton.
She is separated from her husband, Gary M. Mayo of Phillipston. She also leaves two children, April M. Nichols and Philip A. Lang both of Millbury; her mother, Lynn (Fettener) Rutherford of Florida; five grandchildren; three brothers, Jeffrey Bass and Micah Bass both of Florida and Stephen Liberty of Kentucky and also nephews and Roy Goodwin to whom she was going to be engaged. She was born in New York and is predeceased by her father, Richard Bass.
Janice belonged to the Harley Helmet Group and the Central Mass. Steam Association. She unconditionally loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, hunting and fishing with her life partner, Roy Goodwin and family.
Her calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 18th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor, to the Winsor School, 103 Pilgrim Rd., Boston, MA 02215
