MILLBURY – Shirley M. (Caisse) Aspinwall, 85, died suddenly Thursday, January 5, 2012 in her home.
Shirley leaves her husband, Frederick J. Aspinwall. They would have celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary in July. She also leaves two sons, David J. Aspinwall and his wife, Paula of Millbury and Michael E. Aspinwall and his wife, Susan A. Blanker of Cambridge; a daughter, Martha H. St. Denis and her husband Keith of Millbury; five grandchildren, Brian and his wife Mary, Meghan and James St Denis, Sarah and Peter Aspinwall. She was born in Worcester and is predeceased by her parents, Armand J. and Florence M. (Army) Caisse and a grandson, Matthew St. Denis.
She graduated from Millbury High School and Clark University in Worcester with a degree in Chemistry. Shirley taught in Millbury Public Schools and was a CCD teacher at St. Brigid Church in Millbury. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, reading and spending winters in Florida with her husband. Most of all Shirley loved spending time with family and especially her grandchildren.
Shirley's funeral will be held Monday, Jan. 9th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury with a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery in Millbury. Calling hours are 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 8th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America Mohegan Council, Treasure Valley Scout Reservation, 19 Harvard St., Worcester, MA 01609.
