Shirley Donovan

MILLBURY – Shirley A. (Bertrand) Donovan, 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 28th in Beaumont Nursing Center of Westborough.

Shirley’s husband, Daniel E. Donovan passed away in 1974.  She leaves her son, Timothy E. Donovan and his wife, Donna of Millbury; two grandchildren, Jodi A. Turner and her husband, Scott and Kelly A. Jones and her husband, Daniel all of Millbury; four great grandchildren, Kayla and Kelsey Turner, Corey and Meghan Jones; her brother, Richard Bertrand of Millbury; many nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Dorothy (Loranger) Bertrand and her sister, Lorraine Hayes.

Shirley worked as an executive secretary for Iandoli Supermarkets and after retiring she worked at Christopher Heights as a receptionist.  Shirley was a faithful parishioner of St. Brigid Church in Millbury.  She loved going to the beach, being outdoors and working in her yard.  Most of all Shirley loved spending time with her family, especially with all her grandchildren.  The family would like to thank the staff and hospice care of Beaumont Nursing Center of Westborough for all their care and support of Shirley.

Family and friends will honor and remember Shirley’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Sunday, Dec. 30th from 2 to 4 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 31st in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street in Millbury.  Burial will follow at Central Cemetery in Millbury.

The family requests flowers be omitted and contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
