Shirley Ann Lofgren, age 71, died surrounded by loved ones on December 14, 2015 at Saint Vincent's Hospital in Worcester. She is survived by her niece, Amanda Capuano and her significant other, Brian Uppstrom and their son, Logan Uppstrom, with whom she resided in Millbury. She is further survived by her siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Shirley was born in Worcester to parents Earnest and Helen Bishop. She attended Commerce High School in Worcester. She worked most recently for Buck Brothers in Millbury retiring from there in 2014 after about 15 years.
Shirley enjoyed tending to her yard, going to the casino and playing cards. She loved family gatherings. She will be remembered for her thoughtfulness and as someone who sought out ways to help others.
She was actively involved in the rearing of her nieces and nephews and was someone her family could count on to be of support. Shirley was a sincere, non-judgmental and kindhearted person. We love and miss her dearly.
Shirley's funeral service and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
