SUTTON – Stacey D. Treat, 46, formerly of Tioga, PA passed away suddenly on May 24, 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Helen M. (O'Connor) Treat; three children, James M., Cassandra A., and Jennifer L. all of Sutton; his father, Donald E. Treat of PA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon and Scott Wells of Tioga PA, Shelley and Dirk D'Haene of Lawrenceville PA, Sheila Treat and Tim Cisco of Lewes DE; in-laws, Donna O'Connor of Worcester, Steven O'Connor, Brian and Lori O'Connor of Millbury, Kevin O'Connor of Dudley and Paul and Julie O'Connor of Oxford; several nieces and nephews, with whom Stacey loved, heckled and shared his infinite wisdom with. He is predeceased by mother, Laurita C. (Cummings) Treat of Tioga PA
Stacey graduated from Williamson HS in Tioga Pa and DeVry Institute of Technology in Columbus OH where his passion for technology began. He worked for Racal Milgo in FL and was transferred to MA in 1986. He was employed by Fidelity Investments as a Field Engineer for the past 10+ years in Smithfield RI. Stacey coached and refereed for Sutton Youth Soccer for many years. He also participated in the Worcester Football League. Stacey was a true friend to many. He loved people and offered his assistance to friends in times of need. First and foremost, Stacey loved being a husband and father. He was kind and gentle and loved his family deeply. He was a great mentor and friend to his children and their friends. He will be greatly missed but remembered forever by all who knew him.
His funeral will be held Friday, May 28th from the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mark's Church, 356 Boston Rd. in Sutton. Burial will be in Pigeon Hill Cemetery in Sutton. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 27th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to a scholarship fund for Stacey's children currently enrolled in UMass, in care of the Millbury Federal Credit Union, 50 Main St., Millbury, MA 01527.
