MILLBURY - Stanley Witkowski, 91 passed away peacefully Saturday, March 12th.
His wife, Gloria L. (Vaillancourt) Witkowski died in 2006. He leaves five sons, Steven F. Witkowski and his wife, Sandy of VT, Stanley Witkowski of CT, Philip A. Witkowski, and his wife Nancy of Sutton, William Witkowski and his wife, Donna of CA, and James Witkowski of MD; a brother, Richard Witkowski of FL many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his parents, Steven and Stella (Sokolowski) Witkowski and a son, Donald Witkowski.
He worked at many foundries in the Worcester area before he retired. He was a decorated Navy veteran during WW II. Stanley was a life member and former Sr. and Jr. Vice Commander and Quartermaster of the Charles F. Minney VFW Post in Millbury and a member of St. Brigid Church. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Whitinsville and the Clearview Country Clubs.
The family wishes to express a thank you to St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and a special thank you to Notre Dame Hospice and Marcia and JP for their compassion and care of their father.
Stanley's wishes were to have no services and a private burial. Mulhane Home for Funerals in Millbury is assisting the family with the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Notre Dame Hospice, 555 Plantation St., Worcester, MA 01605
