WORCESTER - Stella (Rydzewski) Wolochowicz, formerly of Leicester, died Friday, Jan. 15th, at the age of 91 at the Knollwood Nursing Center in Worcester, after a prolonged illness.
Stella was the wife of the late Roman B. Wolochowicz of Worcester. She is survived by three daughters, Theresa Hernandez and her husband Daniel of North Fork, Ca., Helen Noonan and her husband Stephen of Millbury and Christine Sears and her husband Paul, of Upton; a son, Robert Wolochowicz and his wife Alice of Douglas; two grandchildren, John and Karen and three great grandchildren of Helen and Stephen Noonan, and 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren, of Robert and Alice Wolochowicz; a sister, Alice Pietrewicz of Palmer; nephews and nieces. Stella was born and raised in Worcester, the daughter of Bronislaw and Frances Rydzewski. Her sister, Wanda Rydzewski and brother, Walter Rydzewski predeceased her.
Stella lived in Worcester most of her life, and was a homemaker. She worked as a waitress for many years at Ben's Café, in Worcester, her husband Ray's and then her son Robert's privately owned family café.
Stella enjoyed taking care of her home and family, sewing, and many crafts. She also liked bowling, golfing, and traveling.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, Jan. 19th from the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St., Millbury. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are Monday, Jan. 18th from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Mass.
