MILLBURY - Stephen B. Corey, 89, of 2 Pearl St., formerly of Riverlin St., died Saturday, July 19, in Millbury Health Care Center.
His first wife Dorothy M. (Tetreault) Corey, died in 1958 and his second wife Beatrice L. (Allard) Couture Corey, died in 1973. He leaves, a daughter, Dorothy M. Couture of Millbury; ten sons, Kenneth F. Corey and Herbert J. Corey both of Auburn, Richard S. Corey of Northbridge, Robert J. Corey of Japan, Dennis G. Corey of Jacksonville, Fl., Roger E. Corey of Tyngsboro, David B. Corey of Cincinnati, Ohio, Charles A. Corey and James J. Williams both of Worcester and Arthur M. Corey of Millbury; two step-sons, Roland O. Couture of Millbury and Robert L. Couture of Webster; two brothers, Raymond Boucher of Worcester and Clarence Corey of New Hampshire; 33 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren 6 great-great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A step-son, Richard F. Couture, four brothers, Arthur, Walter, Kenneth and Herbert Corey, a sister, Bertha Aubuchant and a grandson, Scott S. Corey predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Milan and Clara (Cranston) Corey and has lived in Millbury since 1948.
Mr. Corey was a machinist at Wyman-Gordon Company in Worcester for many years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of St. BrigidTM)s Church. He was a former boxing instructor at the Lincoln Square BoysTM) Club in Worcester and was a member and an organizer of the Steel Workers AFLCIO Union at Wyman-Gordon Co. in Worcester. Mr. Corey was a published author and had many of his letters to the editor of the Worecester Telegram and Gazette published.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, July 23, from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. BrigidTM)s Church, 59 Main St.. Burial will be in St. BrigidTM)s Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Millbury Lions Club, P.O. 385, Millbury, Mass. 01527.
