Stephen Platukis

WORCESTER - Stephen “Tuke” Platukis, 60, went to that Grand Buffet in the sky on December 30, 2020 after deciding that he was tired from his extended stay at UMass Memorial.

He was born in Worcester on February 19, 1960.  Steve grew up in Auburn and graduated from Auburn High in 1978. He was a dispatcher for the Auburn Police Department for a number of years.  From there Steve went onto work for Mr. Tux/Men’s Warehouse for several years and also drove for Van Pool Transportation part-time.

Steve had many loves.  His three main loves where his niece and nephews, Marissa, Corey and Brandon. “Uncle Buck” always found time to call them to just check in or to invite them for dinner at one of his many food haunts. “It’s your favorite Uncle” he would say. His other loves were his large circle of friends and extended family. We would like to thank all of them for their prayers, good karma, best wishes that they sent Tuke’s way while hospitalized. Steve’s last two loves were his love for food and his dog/horse racing. Anyone who needed to know where to go to eat in the area and what to have or what the daily special was at Napoli’s just needed to give Steve a ring.

Steve is survived by his mother, Eleanor Platukis of Vernon Healthcare in Worcester, his sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Gary Bunnewith of Millbury, his niece, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Many will miss him dearly.

The family would like to thank the ICU at UMass Memorial – Belmont Street for the amazing care they gave to Steve. You all are an amazing, dedicated group of people!!

There will be no services at this time due to the restrictions issued by the State.  A Celebration of Life in 2021 will be held when we can all be together again safely!
