MILLBURY – Stephen John Urban, 63, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 30th in his home.
He was born in Worcester on May 5, 1959, to Mary (Biadasz) Urban and the late Chester Urban.
Stephen will be forever loved and missed by his two beloved daughters Sheena Johnson and her partner Han Tu of Worcester; Lindsay (Urban) Calzini and her husband James of Hanahan, SC; & his grandchildren, Avianna and Kyaire Tu. Stephen leaves behind two siblings; his brother David Urban and his wife Diane of Malden; his sister Peggy Swenson and her husband Brett of Millbury; several nephews: Matthew, Patrick & Nathan Urban, as well as Timothy & Scott Swenson.
Steve worked as a roofer for many years up until a devastating accident left him paralyzed in 2010. He loved being outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed going to the Cape Cod Canal, was a member of the Surfcasters Club, as well as a long-time member of Singletary Rod and Gun Club. In recent years he stayed close to home; lovingly coined ‘the mayor’ by neighbors, he could be seen wheeling around the neighborhood with his beloved dog, Picca.
We will forever love and miss you, dad. We hope you’re finally at peace.
Family and friends will remember and celebrate Stephen’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Thursday, May 11th from 5 to 7 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to: spinal cord injury research at https://www.christopherreeve.org/get-involved/ or the Animal Rescue League at https://worcesterarl.org/donate/
