MILLBURY – Susan F. (Fjellman) Harrington, 64, died Wednesday April 22nd in her home.
She leaves her husband, Richard D. Harrington; her mother, Maxine (Bengtson) Fjellman of Millbury; two sisters, Sandra Smith and her husband, Paul of Florida and Sally Glavin and her husband, Edward of New Hampshire; a brother, Carl Fjellman and his wife, Deborah of Millbury; nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father, Ernest Fjellman and a brother, Craig Fjellman.
Susan was a registered nurse and graduated from Millbury Memorial High School in1968, then received an Associate's degree in nursing at Quinsigmond Community College. She also attended Worcester State College and Anna Marie College. She worked at Worcester County Hospital in West Boylston, then at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus in Worcester, then at various nursing homes in the area and then worked as a VNA visiting nurse. Her interests were painting, gardening, family gatherings, swimming, children and animals. Susan was a life-long member of the First Congregational Church in Millbury and as a member she sang in the choir and also conducted the children's choir.
Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 2nd in the First Congregational Church, 148 West Main St. in Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 1st in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury and burial will be in West Millbury Cemetery in West Millbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Ave., #2, Norwood, MA 02062.
