MILLBURY T. Louise (Thompson) Taft, 54, of 252 West Main St., died Wednesday, April 11th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Worcester, after a long illness.
She leaves her husband, Clifford W. Taft; two daughters, Karen L. wife of John Cote of Dudley and Natasha M. Vargas-Taft of Millbury; nephews and nieces. She was born in Fredericksburg, VA, and is predeceased by a daughter Tracy and a son Toby.
Mrs. Taft was a chef-manager at the former Fairlawn Hospital in Worcester, before she retired. She was a foster parent and cared for approximately 5000 foster children since 1978. She also donated her time to the Occupational Trainer Center for many years.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 14th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury. Burial will be private in Oakridge Cemetery, Southbridge. Calling hours are 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday prior to the funeral service, in the funeral home. In lieu flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Natasha Vargas-Taft Trust Fund in care of the Millbury Federal Credit Union, 50 Main St., Millbury, MA 01527 or to the American Diabetes Association 330 Congress Street Boston, MA 02210.
