Thelma Eaton

SUTTON - Thelma J. (Lynch) Eaton, of Sutton, formerly of Millbury, died Sunday, April 20th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Worcester.

Her husband, Paul M. Eaton died in 1966. She leaves a daughter, Patricia A. Mitchell of Millbury; nephews, nieces and cousins; Jamie Lange, who referred to Thelma as his adopted grandmother; a sister-in-law, Angelina Lynch of Millbury. She was born in Sutton on February 13, 1919 and is predeceased by her parents David H. and Helen T. (Finnan) Lynch, a sister, Claire Matson and a brother, David C. Lynch. She graduated from Millbury High School and Becker College in Worcester.

Mrs. Eaton was a regional supervisor of personal sales at Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. in Worcester for many years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Red Hat Society in Sutton. Thelma was an avid reader, enjoyed the challenge of crossword puzzles and was always happy to engage in conversations about current events and politics. Through the years Thelma looked forward to her trips, especially those to Oqunquit with her friend Alice Andersen. Thelma was always a true lady and her heart was filled with kindness toward her family, friends and to all whom she met.

Her funeral will be held Thursday, April 24th from the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery in Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 23rd in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St John's Free Meal Program, 44 Temple St., Worcester, MA 01604.
