WORCESTER – Thomas J. Granger, 76, passed away at UMass hospital on Tuesday, September 5th from complications of pancreatic cancer.
Tom leaves two daughters, Renee and Sherri, his son-in-law Joe, his four grandchildren Alexandra, Dominic, Keith, and Harry, his sisters Joan, Peggy, and Janet, his brother Ray, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Tommy, his niece Paulette, and his parents, Raymond and Mary Granger.
Tom attended Mount Saint Charles and West Boylston High. He worked as a construction supervisor for Granger Construction Co and others, putting up large buildings in Worcester, North Conway, Newport, and the Cape. If you gaze upon one of the older brick high rises in the city of Worcester, Tom probably had a hand in building it. He previously lived in Spencer and was a member of Leicester Lions Club. Big T loved cooking, deep sea fishing, and carpentry. He enjoyed his independence and drinking with his Breakfast Club at Dirt McGirt's. Tom appreciated the amazing staff at UMass for helping him through four years of esophageal cancer treatment.
