WORCESTER - Thomas R. Londergan, 96, passed away on May 12, 2024, after a period of declining health.
He was born May 29, 1927, the son of Edward P. and Margaret V. Londergan.
He leaves a son, Edward and his wife Barbara; five grandchildren, Christie Pooler, Matthew Pooler and his wife Roxan, Kerri Jackman and her husband Greg, Erin Gardner and Cassidy Gardner; three great-grandchildren, Anna Pooler, Brynne Pooler, and Nora Jackman, nieces Donna Fitzsimmons, Nancy Anderson Sullivan, and Laura Anderson.
He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Lois V. (Anderson) Londergan, in 2014, his daughters Karen Brown and Kathryn Gardner, and his sister Eleanor Fitzsimmons.
Tom proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, enlisting the day after his high school graduation.
He was a good man, a kind, compassionate, considerate man who loved his family beyond measure; family was everything to him.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff at the Shrewsbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Notre Dame Hospice for the extraordinary care and kindness they provided to him and the family.
The family invites you to join them in remembering Tom’s life by gathering for calling hours on Thursday, May 16th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 North Main Street, Millbury.
His funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 17th at 11 a.m. in St. John’s Catholic Church, 44 Temple Street, Worcester. Burial will take place in St. John’s Cemetery immediately after the Mass.
