Thomas T. Stratford, 84, died Thursday, Sept. 26th peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Thomas was the son of the late Thomas T. Stratford Sr. and Ruth (Tobie) Stratford. He was also predeceased by a brother Willie F. Stratford.
His wife of 54 years, Mildred M. (Allain) Stratford died in 2010.
He also leaves four children, Paul R. Fields of Worcester, Debra A. Stone Santon of Sutton, Thomas M. Stratford and his partner Patty Wall of Millbury and Peter G. Stratford and his wife, Kristine of Millbury; six grandchildren, Jason, Paul, Michael, Lauren, Devan and Ian; a great granddaughter, Emily; a brother Ted Stratford and wife Laurie, of Sutton; two sisters Ruth Puchek, of Worcester and Martha Mingolla of Sutton; a brother-in-law, Leonard Allain and wife Barbara, of Leicester; a sister-in-law, Irene Allain of Oxford; several nieces and nephews are left behind including his niece, Denise
Gaudette and her husband, Norman who lovingly helped care for Thomas. He will also be missed by his close and dedicated friend Noah Rice and Thomas' faithful dog, "Bailey".
Thomas was president of the family business, Mid-State Sewerage Inc. for 50 years. He worked side by side with his wife Mildred and sons, Thomas and Peter. The business will continue his legacy. Thomas was so proud of his family and what the business had become. He couldn't miss his daily ride to the garage to see what was happening. He was a very generous man and was always available whenever it was needed by anyone.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Vincent Hospital for all their support and kindness during his time spent there.
His funeral will be held Monday, Sept 30th from the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mark's Church, 356 Boston Rd. in Sutton. Burial will be in Central Cemetery in Millbury. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept 29th in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St., Boston, MA 02210 or the American Heart, Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
