Thomas Tighe, Jr.

SUTTON - Thomas J. Tighe, Jr., 92 passed away peacefully surrounded by his daughters on Saturday, August 14.

Tom's loving wife of 53 years Joan "Cookie" Tighe passed away in 2003 and a daughter Christine Bolduc in 2012. He leaves behind three daughters, Michele Gaudette of Webster, Debra Hamm and her husband Paul of Sutton, Patricia Tighe of Shrewsbury and a son Dennis Tighe and his wife Kathy of Sutton. Tom also leaves behind eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He also leaves two sisters, Mary Turcotte and Fran McAvey, two brothers, Paul and Jack Tighe, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Barbara Samson, Helen Sheehan and Pat Jones.

Tom was a United States Army veteran serving in the Korean War. He later worked for Bell Atlantic now Verizon for 30 years retiring in the 80's.  Tom and Cookie enjoyed camping in the White Mountains with their family and later in life in Cape Cod. He also enjoyed visiting all the local coffee shops, flea markets and fishing.

Tom’s graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 1st at Noon in New Howard Cemetery, 19 Armsby Road in Sutton.
