Timothy Kane

SUTTON, MA. - Timothy Kane, 60, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 26th surrounded by his loving family, after a brief illness.

Tim leaves his wife of 30 years, Laura A. (Balanca) Kane; two daughters, Erin E. Kane of West Springfield, and Sarah M. (Kane) Sweeney and her husband, Patrick of Holly Springs, NC; two granddaughters, Emma and Mia Sweeney: four siblings Maureen, Eileen, Jennifer, and Michael; four nephews and one niece.  He is predeceased by his parents, Leo and Statia (Lipkiewicz) Kane.

Tim was born and raised in Saugus, MA, and graduated from UMass Lowell with a Bachelor’s Degree in Plastics Engineering.  He worked in the plastics engineering industry for many years.  He met his wife, Laura, at his first engineering job at Coz Chemical in 1988. After 10 years, Tim and Laura went to a startup company together, ECM Plastics. After several years at ECM Plastics, Tim pursued a career at Foster Corporation, where he was the VP of Engineering and Operations. Over his 15 years at Foster Corporation, he made many long-lasting friendships. Aside from being passionate about his career, Tim was an avid golfer and was a long-time member of Pleasant Valley Country Club in Sutton. He was very proud of his golfing accomplishments, such as; being Senior Club Champion and a hole-in-one.  In his younger years, he enjoyed traveling to play competitive men’s softball. Over the years, through his sports, he made many lifelong friendships.  He enjoyed vacationing and spending time with family and friends. He was a proud father who enjoyed watching his daughters play sports and excel in academics and their careers.

Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate Tim’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Wednesday, March 1st from 4 to 7 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals 45 N. Main Street in Millbury, MA.

His funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 2nd at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
