Vernon Erickson

MILLBURY - Vernon “Sonny” Erickson, 90, passed away on May 5th after a period of declining health.  Sonny is predeceased by his wife, Marian K. Erickson, who passed away March 2023.  Sonny will be forever loved and missed by his two children: daughter Robin Peretzian and her husband Thomas of Northborough and son Steven Erickson of Millbury.  “Papa” will be greatly missed by his five loving grandchildren who brought him so much joy:  Kory Erickson and his partner Rachael Osborn of Sturbridge, Zachary Erickson and his partner Alex Maslen of Charlton, Ryan Erickson and his partner Megan Chesanek of Oxford, TJ Peretzian and his fiancée Shannon Boyle of Auburn and Alexa Peretzian of Northborough.  Sonny was also anxiously awaiting the birth of his first great-grandson.

Sonny was a lifelong resident of Millbury, son of the late Einar and Marie Erickson.  He was the oldest of 6 children and is survived by his brothers, Richard Erickson and Robert Erickson of Eastham, MA and sister Shirley Courtney of Sutton, MA.  He was predeceased by his brother Russell Erickson and sister Nancy LeClaire.

Sonny was a veteran of the United States Navy serving on the USS F.D. Roosevelt and worked for many years at Wyman-Gordon in Grafton.  Sonny loved spending time with his grandchildren, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his vegetable garden.

There are no calling hours.  His services and burial will be conducted privately.
