MILLBURY Victor "Chic" M. Ceccarini, 84, of 30 Miles St., died Monday, Sept 19th in the Hospice Residence on Coes Pond, Worcester after a long battle with heart disease. He was surrounded by three generations of his loving family.
He leaves his wife of 29 years, Florence M. (Corey) Belsito Ceccarini; his children, Victor Ceccarini and his wife Donna of Worcester, Brian Ceccarini and his wife Debbie and Beth Ceccarini Auclair Erickson and her husband Tim both of Charlton, Daniel Belsito and his wife Maureen, Marie Belsito Cameron and her husband Tony, Matthew Belsito and his wife Cindy all of Millbury, and Dr. Donald V. Belsito and his wife Maria of Kansas. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and his sister Leia Kawolis of Sutton. He was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy (Ellstrom) Ceccarini and his sisters, Eva Sansoucie, Mary Gendron and Lena Linek. He was born in Grafton, the son of Dominic and Louisa (Buzzetti) Ceccarini and lived for the last 30 years in Millbury.
Victor graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School (now Worcester Voke) in 1939. Immediately after graduation, Chic entered the United States Coast Guard where he proudly served during World War II in the South Pacific. He was an Electricians Mate 1st Class aboard an all Coast Guard manned LST, which was used as a forward repair and supply base for PT Boat Squadrons. He was employed by New England Telephone Co. from 1941 to 1982, retiring after 41 years with the company. Chic was known company wide for his pioneering efforts and leadership in a series of conversions or "cut overs" which signaled the start of the technology revolution in the communications industry. In his years of retirement Chic and Flo traveled extensively always returning home to enjoy their large family gatherings.
His funeral will be held Friday, Sept. 23rd from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. BrigidTM)s Church, 59 Main St. Millbury. Burial will be in Central Cemetery, Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22nd in the funeral home.
