SUTTON - Virginia M. King Kozlowski, age 90, of Sutton died in the early morning hours of Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

She was a loving mother, treasured grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children, Michael E. and his wife Christine Kozlowski of Millbury, Katherine A. and her husband Daniel Rausch of New Haven, CT, and Richard C. and his wife Helen Kozlowski of Gales Ferry, CT; her grandchildren, Joseph M. Kozlowski of Millbury, Jeffrey A. and his wife Stephanie Kozlowski of Millbury, and Heather Damian of Gales Ferry, CT; and her great-grandchildren, Brooke Massicotte, Nathan Kozlowski, James Damian and Emma Damian.

She is survived by her sisters, Gertrude E. Lacey of Whitinsville and Ruth A. and her husband Charles Meserve of Hampden.

Virginia is also survived by an aunt, Evelyn Simpson, and many generations of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Virginia was predeceased by her infant grandson, Max Benjamin Rausch, her brother and sister-in-law, William D. and Helen M. King, and her former husband, Edward J. Kozlowski.

Virginia was born in Worcester on November 6, 1925, daughter of the late Walter J. and Hazel G. Davidson King, and lived most of her life on King Hill in Sutton.

Virginia graduated from Sutton Memorial High School and the David Hale Fanning Trade School in Worcester, where she became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She worked as an LPN at UMass Medical Center when UMass first opened in Worcester until her retirement. During her career, she belonged to several nursing associations.

She enjoyed reading, knitting, gardening, genealogy, and the Boston Red Sox. She looked forward to going to baseball and football games in which her great-grandson, Nathan, played. She was a member of the Deborah Wheelock Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Rachel Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.

The family wishes to thank the physicians, the nurses, the aides and the multitude of caregivers who took care of our mother with professionalism and great love during the last years and final days of her life.

Family and friends may call at the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., in Millbury on Saturday, February 6, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. Virginia wished to be cremated and her ashes scattered upon the waters.
