Virginia J. (Shumski) Spirkowyc, 86, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 12th in her home.
Virginia's husband Stanley W. Spirkowyc passed away in 1995. She leaves her son, Paul A. Spirkowyc and his wife, Barbara of Rock Hill, SC and her daughter, Sharon L. Cygielnik of Oxford; five grandchildren, Katie, Richie, Christa and her husband, Alan, Kerry and Abby; her companion, Wallace "Wally" Landry. She is predeceased by her parents, Frank and Amelia (Spurskis) Shumski.
Virginia was a member of the St. Brigid Church and the former St. Brigid Women's Club. She enjoyed the Millbury Senior Center trips and activities, polka dancing, knitting and playing bingo. Most of all Virginia loved spending time with her family, friends and especially her grandchildren.
Virginia's calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 17th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main Street in Millbury.
Her Funeral Mass will follow the calling hours at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main Street in Millbury. Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of the Millbury Seniors, 1 River Street, Millbury, MA 01527.
