MILLBURY Vittie M. Waitkevich, 84, formerly of Dolan Rd. and of Worcester, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2007 in the Radius Health Care Center of Millbury.
His wife, Viola A. (Ginotis) Waitkevich died in 2001. He leaves a son, Anthony G. and his wife Barbara Waitkevich of Millbury; a son-in-law, Dennis J. Sabonaitis of Millbury; seven grandchildren, Michelle Gauthier, Beth-Ann Bourgeois, Denise Sabonaitis, Donald Greenwood, Gregg Greenwood, Adam Waitkevich and Mark Waitkevich; twelve great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his parents, George and Mary Waitkevich and a daughter, Diane V. Sabonaitis.
Vittie was a welder at Pullman Standard in West Boylston until 1960. He then worked at New England High Carbon Wire Co. in Millbury until he retired in 1968. He was a Navy veteran during WW II and he was a member of the Dudley-Gendron American Legion Post in Sutton. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
His funeral will be held Thursday, Nov. 15th from the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. BrigidTM)s Church, 59 Main St., Millbury. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association 330 Congress Street Boston, MA 02210.
