MILLBURY – Walter “Dick” R. Taylor, 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 21st in Rose Monahan Hospice Home.
Walter leaves three sons, Richard Taylor and his wife, Rosemary of West Boylston, David Taylor and his wife, Gima of Huntersville, NC and William Taylor of Rutland; three grandchildren, Cory Taylor and his wife, Elyana of Worcester, Nicole Taylor of Raleigh, NC and Dylan Taylor of West Boylston; a sister Sally Taylor and niece Karen Taylor of Millbury. He is predeceased by his parents, Walter and Frances Taylor, loving wife Dorothy, and sisters Barbara and Carolyn Taylor.
Walter was a lifelong resident of Millbury. He served in the US Air Force from 1952-1956 and upon discharge met the love of his life who he married in 1957. They would spend the next 66 years together. He was a US Letter Carrier in Millbury and retired after 32 years of service. He and Dorothy were active members of the Emanuel Lutheran Church, serving on several committees and found great pleasure volunteering there. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends on their trips to Europe, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Family and friends are invited to remember Walter’s life by gathering on Friday, March 1st at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 200 Greenwood Street, Worcester. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. with a funeral service starting at 10:30 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery, Millbury.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dick and Dot Taylor Memorial Fund at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 200 Greenwood St. Worcester, MA 01607 or to a charity of your choice.
