Wayne C. Newlands, 71, died Saturday, August 18, 2012 in the Millbury Health Care Center.
His wife, Margaret (Bilodeau) Newlands died in 2001. He leaves two sons, Keith W. and his wife, Heather with whom he lived in Millbury and Sgt. 1st Class Michael E. Newlands and his wife, Birgitt of FT. Lewis Washington; a daughter, Michelle and her former husband Richard LaVallee of Millbury; his mother, Doris E. (Bachard) Newlands of Freeland, Washington; two sisters, Marsha Russell and her husband Allen and Sheila Newlands all of Freeland, Washington; seven grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father, Joseph Newlands and three grandchildren.
Wayne was a shipper at NENSCO in Millbury for 30 years, retiring ten years ago. He was an Air Force veteran during the Vietnam War, a former member of the Millbury Lions Club and a member of the Park Congregational Church in Worcester. The family would like to thank the staff of the Millbury Health Care Center for all their love, care and support during this hard time.
His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22nd in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery in Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21st in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Activity Fund of the Millbury Health Care Center, 312 Millbury Ave., Millbury, MA 01527.
