CLOVIS, NEW MEXICO - Wilfred "Will" Laquerre, 102, formerly of Webster, MA and Spring Hill, Florida, passed away, on February 7, 2014, at the home of his son, James Laquerre, in Clovis, New Mexico.
He was predeceased by his wife of nearly 60 years Mildred Mooney and his second wife of 5 years Irene Mann. He was also predeceased by two sisters; Edna Robillard and Estelle Pichette and by three brothers Herve, Paul, and Eugene Laquerre and by daughter-in-law Catherine Laquerre.
Wilfred is survived by a daughter, Joan Hoel and husband Philip of Woodstock, CT and two sons Paul Laquerre and his wife Bernadine of Southwick, MA and James Laquerre and his wife Virginia of Clovis, NM with whom he made his home. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 12 great, great grandchildren, one great, great, great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
Will was born and raised in Worcester and attended Worcester Boys Vocational
High School, where he focused on drafting. He worked as a machinist and a carpenter in New Jersey and later in Worcester and was a member of the Carpenters' Union local #107. He built two homes on Killdeer Island in Webster where he and his wife Mildred raised their family.
Upon retirement, He and Mildred traveled the country with their Airstream trailer before settling in Florida. After Mildred's passing, Will enrolled in computer classes and became quite adept at using technology and recently he purchased a smart phone. He joined the Elks where he met his second wife Irene. He continued an active life of dancing, bowling, golf and challenging his mind on the computer.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, Feb. 12th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, MA, with a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury, MA. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester, MA. Calling hours are 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12th prior to the Funeral Mass, in the funeral home.
