GRAFTON - William P. Coleman, 81, of North Grafton, died Friday, April 11th in his home, after an illness.
He leaves his wife, Elizabeth A. (May) Coleman; five children, Stephen Coleman and his wife Doreen of Portland, Oregon, Patricia Nameishi and her husband Akira of Plainville, David Coleman and his wife Betty of Grafton, Jeanne Coleman of North Grafton and Timothy Coleman and his wife Sonya of Arlington; three brothers, Donald Coleman of Mount Pleasant, SC, Robert Leo Coleman and Raymond Coleman both of Worcester; nine grandchildren, Evan, Molly, Shauncey, Sawyer, Darcy and Elsie Coleman, Michael, Christopher and Alex Nameishi; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his parents, Michael J. and Helen T. (Shea) Coleman, a brother Francis Coleman.
He was a special delivery mailman for the Worcester Post Office for 47 years, retired in 1988. He received the USPS driving award for 1 million miles and 25, 000 hours without an accident. He was a Navy veteran during WW II serving in the Asiatic and Pacific Theater and was a member of Postal Workers Union and a former member of K of C Benedict Council.
His funeral will be held Monday, April 14th from the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 17 Waterville St. in North Grafton. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, North Grafton. Calling hours are 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 13th in the funeral home.
