SUTTON – William H. Conley, Jr., 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by his children on Monday, Feb. 27th after a brief illness.
Bill leaves his wife of 56 years, Norma Ann (Ugolini) Conley; three children, Michael Conley and his wife, Nancy of Millbury, Patrick Conley and his wife Sue of Sutton and Jay Conley of Sutton; seven grandchildren, Julie, Shane, Jessica, Ryan, Caitlin, Briana and Giana; four great grandchildren, Mason, Brody, Aurora and Henry; two sisters, Linda (Rhodes) Behunin and Marie Warren Giangaspro; several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a son, Shawn Conley and his mother, Belva (Grenier) Rhodes and his stepfather, Rockwood “Rocky” Rhodes.
Bill was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving on the Battleship USS Missouri and Submarine USS Wahoo SS565. He was a proud member of the Operating Engineers Union Local 4 for over 55 years and a former member of the 200 Sportsman Club. Bill was a good mechanic and he enjoyed reading and watching football. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was an excellent care giver to his wife for the last six years, while she battled Alzheimer’s and dementia. His family will miss him very much.
Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate Bill’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Monday, March 6th from 10 to 11 a.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.
His funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be held in West Sutton Cemetery.
