MILLBURY William H. Coons Sr., 78, of 46 Miles St., died Tuesday, Jan. 16th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Worcester.
He leaves his wife, Margaret Jane (Wicke) Coons; six children, Donna Minichilli, Victoria and her husband Paul Frigon, Linda wife of Allan Coons-Ackerman, William Coons Jr., John Coons, Michael and his wife Robyn Coons all of Millbury; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Connie wife of Mike Patruno of Worcester. He was born in Clinton, and is predeceased by his parents, Harry L Coons Sr. and Lillian (Cooper) Coons, a brother Harry Coons Jr. and a sister, Dorothy Muscatell.
Mr. Coons was the former proprietor of McGuireTM)s Cafe-Lounge in Worcester. He was a Navy veteran during WW II serving in many places. He was a member of the Charles F. Minney VFW Post and the Dudley-Gendron American Legion Post. He will be sadly missed and always remembered by his wife, children and grandchildren.
His funeral will be held Saturday, Jan. 20th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. BrigidTM)s Church, 59 Main St., Millbury. Burial will be in St. BrigidTM)s Cemetery, Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19th in the funeral home.
