William Devoe

January 15, 1932 — February 2, 2006

MILLBURY William J. Devoe, 74, of 85 South Main St., died suddenly, Thursday, Feb. 2nd in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, after being stricken ill at home.

He leaves his wife of 49 years, Evelyn R. (LaBranche) Devoe; two daughters, Susan M. wife of Richard P. Hamilton and Sandra A. wife of Steven S. Erickson all of Millbury; five grandchildren, Jake and Chelsea Hamilton and Kory, Zachary and Ryan Erickson; a sister, Mary Rita Larosee of Millbury; nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by a brother, J. Edward Devoe. He was born in Millbury, son of Edward and Elizabeth (McCormack) Devoe and has lived here all his life. He attended Millbury Schools.

Mr. Devoe was a machinist at Wright Machine, formerly Worcester Taper Pin for 37 years, retiring in 1994. He was an Army veteran during the Korean War, serving in Germany. He was a member of St. BrigidTM)s Church and his hobbies were watching and taping movies, making jigsaw puzzles, traveling and getting together with his family.

His funeral will be held Tuesday, Feb. 7th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. BrigidTM)s Church, 59 Main St. Burial will be in St. BrigidTM)s Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, Feb. 6th in the funeral home.
