William S. Haynes, Jr., 80, died peacefully Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in Millbury Healthcare Center, surrounded by his loving family.
William leaves his wife of 54 years, Meridee E. (Johnston) Haynes; a son, Brian Haynes of Northbridge and his fiancée, Nina Denaro; four grandchildren, Rebecca and Kevin Haynes of Millbury, Paul Haynes of Webster and Christina Pressy of Florida; three great grandchildren; a brother, John Haynes and his wife, Anita of Millbury; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, William and Elsie (Briddon) Haynes; two sons, William S. Haynes, III and Kevin Michael; a brother David Haynes.
Bill owned and operated Bill Haynes Garage in Millbury many years. He was a retired Assistant Chief on the Millbury Fire Department serving on Engine 3 for over 40 years. Bill was a veteran of the United States Army. He loved to vacation at the family camp in Winchendon. Bill touched the hearts of many people and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the staff at the Millbury Healthcare Center for all their loving care of Bill.
William's calling hours will be held on Friday, March 7th from 5 to 8 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main Street in Millbury.
His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 8th in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery, Millbury.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Activities Fund of the Millbury Healthcare Center, 312 Millbury Ave, Millbury, MA 01527.
