MILLBURY - William “Timmy or Bill” Provencher, 82, passed away peacefully at UMass Memorial Hospital, Lake Ave Campus on May 10, 2023, with his 3 loving daughters by his side.
His wife of 54 years, Ruth passed away in 2012. In 2010 he was 1 of 5 people to receive the Extra Mile Award from the VNA in recognition to his care and dedication for taking care of his wife.
Timmy leaves 3 Daughters, Wendy Graves and Marcy Provencher of Millbury and Michelle Gaval of Connecticut, 6 grandchildren including Amanda (Graves) Palminteri,10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He is survived by 2 brothers, George Provencher of Worcester and Joseph Provencher of N.H. and pre-deceased by his sister Carol Callahan and Brother Bob Provencher. He was born in Millbury, son of Henry and Beatrice (Aubin) Provencher and was a lifelong Millbury resident.
He was a Meat Cutter and Truck driver at Snyder Beef and a Supervisor at Ottman Custom Processing in Sutton. He retired as a Maintenance Tech from the Providence House of Millbury.
Timmy enjoyed his summers at King's Campground for many years, hosting family and friends with summertime fun with cookouts and boating. He was a NASCAR and Patriots fan, He enjoyed gardening, casinos and his trips to Aruba but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
He will be remembered for his kindness and sense of humor- ever the jokester hiding dollar bills in the pea stone and pulling the fishing line he had attached when you went to pick it up.
We would like to thank the staff at UMass 6 East for their kindness, compassion and wonderful care they gave our dad.
Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate Timmy’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Tuesday, May 16th from 4 to 6 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following the visitation.
