WORCESTER – William H. Rock, 80, of 10 Homestead Ave., formerly of Millbury, died Friday, May 9th in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
He leaves a sister, Jacqueline R. Holmes of Falmouth; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his parents, Homer E. and Lilla A. (Woodward) Rock, two sister, Judith C. Foisy and Carolyn M. Forsberg and a brother, Robert R. Rock
Mr. Rock was furnace operator for New England High Carbon Wire Co in Millbury for 30 years, retired in 1975. He was a Navy veteran from 1945 to 1948 and then he was an Army veteran from 1949 to 1952. He was a member of the Charles F. Minney VFW Post in Millbury, the Tatnuck Post American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #4, both in Worcester.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, May 13th from the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery in Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 12th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
