William "Bill" A. Russell, 71, passed away at home on April 2, 2013 after an illness.
He leaves his wife of over 49 years, Carol J. (Laukaitis) Russell; two children, James W. Russell and his wife, Lori of Dudley and Marie C. (Russell) Rokne and her husband, Jan of Douglas; four grandchildren Sara L. (Russell) Levangie husband, Rich of Waltham; Jesse and Emalee Russell of Dudley and Rebecca Rokne of Douglas; a brother, Paul Russell of Las Vegas NV; a sister, Betty (Russell) Powers of Millbury; nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Theresa (Russell) Moore.
Bill was born in Worcester; son of the late, Arthur L. and Barbara A. (O'Brien) Russell. Bill was a veteran of the United States Air Force, he worked for Red Star Express for 28 years and was an Independent/Owner Operator of Russell Trucking until 2007 when he retired. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #170 and Woodstock RC Flyers.
Bill's pride was his Peterbilt truck. He enjoyed RC Model Airplanes, Model Railroading, Hot Rods, Bird watching and time spent with his family.
Bill's calling hours will be held on Monday, April 8th from 5 to 8 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. His Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 9th at 9:30 am in Our Lady of the Assumption, 10 Water Street in Millbury. Burial will follow in North Cemetery in Oxford.
