MILLBURY – William T. Walsh, 82, devoted family man and friend died Monday, August 28, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.

Bill is survived by his wife and best friend of 59 years, Carol A. (Lucey) Walsh; his son, Michael of Worcester; his daughter, Kathleen O’Connor and her husband, Bill of Worcester and his two grandsons, Brendan and Colin. He also leaves his sister, Muriel Wilkinson of Yardley, PA and his twin brother, Francis from Manalapan, NJ. He was predeceased by his brother, Raymond.  He will be remembered as the loving uncle “UB” to many nieces and nephews whom he shared a special relationship filled with an entertaining sense of humor.

Bill was born in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Francis E. Walsh and Gertrude M. (Sullivan) Walsh.  He graduated from St. Agnes High School in Manhattan, NY and went on to attend the City College of New York. Bill worked for over forty years in the travel industry. He was a sales representative for Eastern Airlines. He was president of Four Seasons Travel in Worcester where he coordinated the travel of the New England Patriots and Boston Celtics. He was also affiliated with several Boston area travel agencies until retirement. Following his retirement, he was a wine consultant for Global Wines, Inc., Framingham, MA. Known as “the Wine Man”, he enjoyed promoting and selling wine in the Millbury and Auburn area.

Bill had an unwavering love for family and treasured the time spent with them. He enjoyed family holidays, vacations at the Cape, golf, the movies, reading, studying the stars, and rooting for the Patriots.

Bill was a wonderful man who will be fondly remembered and tremendously missed by all who knew him. A dedicated family man of strong faith, he was a firm believer in the power of prayer and led by his Christian example.

Although we loved you dearly,

We could not make you stay,

A golden heart stopped beating,

Hard working hands at rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us,

He only takes the best.

His funeral will be held Tuesday, Sept. 5th, with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main St. in Millbury.  Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4th at Mulhane Home for Funerals 45 N. Main St. Millbury.  Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  To view William’s online Tribute and Guestbook please visit: www.mulhane.com
