Yvonne Hilyard

Yvonne R. "Memere" (Smith) Hilyard, 88, passed away at St. Vincent's Hospital on Thursday, April 13th with her loving family by her side.

She joins in heaven her husband of more than 50 years, Charles J. Hilyard; her son, James E. Hilyard and five sisters, Leah Hutchins, Theresa Banach, Eva Serra, Rena Kelley and Nancy Richford.

Yvonne is survived by a sister, Shirley Bellerive of Grafton; a daughter-in-law, Theresa Hilyard of Albuquerque, NM; four grandchildren, Kerrie Randell and her husband, Steve of Sutton, Jessica Hilyard and her partner, Jay of Holland, Jaime O'Brien and her husband, Matthew of Chico, CA and Jim Hilyard and his wife, Kim of Albuquerque, NM; three great-grandchildren, Kylie Hilyard, Sophia and Charlie Randell; many nieces and nephews.

Yvonne was born in Oxford, MA the daughter of Wilfred G. and Laurette (Laurila) Smith. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, doing crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. Yvonne loved spending time with her great grandchildren. She was a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Boston sports fan. Yvonne was incredibly friendly and kind to everyone, new friend or old, and her warmth and loving nature will be deeply missed.

Yvonne's calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 22nd from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.

Her funeral service will follow the calling hours at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
